Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Identify new business opportunities; including commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.
  2. Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for promoting solar energy products and services.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, contractors, government agencies, and corporate clients.
  4. Develop strategic partnerships and alliances to expand the company’s footprint in the renewable energy market.
  5. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform business strategy.
  6. Lead the sales process from lead generation to deal closure.
  7. Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals, presentations, and bids to potential clients.
  8. Develop pricing strategies and commercial models to ensure competitive yet profitable offerings.
  9. Achieve sales targets and contribute to the company’s revenue growth.
  10. Provide technical support during client interactions to explain solar energy systems, feasibility studies, and potential ROI.
  11. Work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure that proposed solutions are technically feasible and align with client needs.
  12. Lead the preparation of bids and responses to tenders.
  13. Negotiate contract terms, including scope, pricing, delivery timelines, and warranties, with clients and suppliers.
  14. Manage the commercial terms of contracts to ensure profitability and alignment with the company’s business objectives.
  15. Ensure that projects comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
  16. Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities in new and emerging markets for solar projects.
  17. Provide inputs to senior management on market entry strategies and product/service positioning.
  18. Develop business cases and investment plans for expanding into new regions or service line.

Academic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Additional degree in Business Management is a plus.

Skills/Job Specification:

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in business development, sales or techno-commercial roles in the solar or renewable energy industry.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and seizing business opportunities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market dynamics.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings, site visits, and project negotiations.
