Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Take the overall responsibility and accountability for the project in all aspects.
- Track progress and prepare status reports for management and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, local authorities, and environmental organizations.
- Organize and participate in project meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
- Monitor project budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Assist in financial forecasting and reporting for the project.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with the project team to address issues or bottlenecks that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Facilitate the preparation of environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and necessary permits.
- Work closely with government agencies to ensure all permits are obtained on time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers to develop comprehensive project plans.
- Conceptualize and optimize the HM and EM tender level design for hydroelectric power generation systems, and float it to the HM/EM contractors and finalize the design.
- Oversee the hydraulic and structural analysis to ensure the efficiency of hydro energy systems as provided by the concerned team.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
- Ensure that health and safety standards are adhered to during all phases of the project.
Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering. A Masters’ Degree is a plus.
Skills/Job Specification:
- Proven experience of at least 10 years in hydropower engineering with 7+ years of experience in project coordination/management in hydropower projects.
- Strong knowledge of hydropower systems, environmental regulations, and energy sector policies.
- Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, Auto CAD or similar software.
- Understanding of hydropower technologies, engineering processes, and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of environmental and regulatory frameworks related to hydropower development.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is an advantage.
