Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Functional Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the overall strategic plan for the Agro business division.
- Identify market trends, opportunities, and challenges to drive the Business’s growth.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to ensure the achievement of business objectives.
- Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Agro business, including farming, production, Sourcing, Distribution and Sales.
- Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and optimize resource utilization.
- Aim for operational efficiencies in order to achieve projected bottom-line.
- Sales & Market Development:
- Identify and evaluate new markets for products.
- Lead efforts to expand the distribution network and increase market penetration.
- Achieve the Sales AOP established for FY 80-81 taking in consideration the topline.
- Product Development:
- Collaborate with the research and development team to introduce new agri products or improve existing ones.
- Ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for the Agro business division.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze financial reports, and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee the entire supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to delivering products to customers on time.
- Effectively manage warehouse operations and ensure minimum damage, wastage and pilferage.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, farmers, and other stakeholders.
- Promote cost effectiveness in entire supply chain for positively impacting the bottom-line.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team within the agro business division.
- Provide mentorship and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Sustainability Stewardship & Corporate Governance:
- Stay informed about and adhere to regulations related to agricultural practices and environmental impact.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Uphold ethical business practices and promote a culture of integrity.
- Risk Management:
- Assess and manage risks associated with agro-business operations.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Communication:
- Effectively communicate the company’s strategy, goals, and performance to internal and external audiences.
