Roles and Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
Oversee and manage all financial reporting for onshore operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.
Maintain effective financial controls, ensuring company assets are safeguarded and financial risks are minimized.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure alignment with business goals.
Provide regular updates on budget performance, highlighting any variances and recommending corrective actions.
Develop financial forecasts and projections based on operational performance and market conditions.
Cost Management & Optimization:
Monitor operational costs and identify areas for cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
Work closely with departmental heads to ensure effective cost management across all functions.
Assist in pricing strategies, ensuring profitability targets are met without compromising on quality or operational integrity.
Financial Analysis & Strategy:
Perform detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, cash flow analysis, and financial modeling.
Assist in the evaluation of potential investment opportunities and projects from a financial perspective.
Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
Ensure the team is adequately trained in financial processes, tools, and systems.
Promote continuous improvement in finance processes and systems.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as a key point of contact for financial matters within the organization, including liaising with internal teams, senior management, and external auditors.
Present financial results, reports, and forecasts to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Support decision-making by providing clear financial insights into strategic initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly desirable.
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a similar role, preferably within onshore operations or a related industry.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing a finance team.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in large-scale financial projects or cross-functional projects.
Previous experience with offshore or international finance operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Familiarity with industry-specific financial systems or ERP platforms.
